ottomanが初めてフットゴルフイベント「ジェイサポカップ」に協賛品としてボールホルダーを提供した時のことを、今でも鮮明に覚えています。

当日は、参加者の約半数もの方々がottomanボールホルダーを希望してエントリーしてくださったとのこと。

私はその場に足を運ぶことができず、直接お話しすることは叶いませんでしたが、その反響の大きさは作り手としてこれ以上ない喜びと大きな励みになりました。

今回ご紹介するのは、その時に見事当選され、以来今日まで大切に使い続けてくださっている愛用者様の一品です。

刻まれた時間と、新たな呼吸

長い年月、ピッチやコースを共に歩んできたそのホルダーには、持ち主と共に過ごした時間の証である美しいエイジングが刻まれていました。

今回、その大切な相棒に特別なアップデートを施しました。

当初、ストラップ部分に使用していた「アクリルテープ」。

それを、現在のottomanの象徴である「イタリアンレザー」へと変更しました。

利便性を重視したテープ素材から、使い込むほどに持ち主の歴史を刻む天然皮革へ。

素材を入れ替えることで、これまでの使用感を損なうことなく、全体の佇まいに「大人の深み」と堅牢さが加わりました。

まさに、過去の思い出を大切にしながら、未来へと繋ぐための進化です。

繋がる想い、深まる愛着

2022年のあの日、会場を包んでいた熱気。

直接お会いすることはできなかったけれど、こうして年月を経て「レザーのエイジング」という目に見える形となって戻ってくる。

これこそが、ottomanがモノ作りを通じて大切にしたい「人とボールの架け橋」のあり方です。

初期のモデルを今もなお愛し、メンテナンスやアップデートを経て使い続けてくださる。

その深い愛着に応えるべく、私たちはこれからも一つひとつのディテールを磨き続けていきます。

ARCHIVE & EVOLUTION: "A tool is only completed through continued love and use."

Looking back to November 2022, I remember vividly when ottoman first provided ball holders as sponsorship prizes for the footgolf event, "J-Sapo Cup". I was told that nearly half of the participants applied specifically for the ottoman ball holder that day. Although I couldn’t be there in person to speak with everyone, the scale of that response brought me incredible joy and served as a huge source of encouragement as a maker.

Today, I am introducing a piece belonging to one of the winners from that day, who has cherished and used this holder ever since.

Carved Time and a New Breath

Over the years, walking through pitches and courses, this holder has developed a beautiful patina—a testament to the time it has spent with its owner. Now, we have given this precious companion a special update.

Originally, the straps were made of "acrylic tape". We have now replaced them with the "Italian leather" that has become the hallmark of ottoman today. Shifting from a utility-focused tape to a natural leather that records its owner’s history with every use, this change adds a "mature depth" and robustness to its presence without compromising the familiar feel. It is truly an evolution that honors past memories while moving toward the future.

Connecting Thoughts, Deepening Affection

The excitement that filled the venue back in 2022—though I couldn't be there directly, it has returned to me years later in the visible form of "leather aging". This is exactly the essence of "The bridge between people and balls" that ottomanstrives for through craftsmanship.

To see an early model still loved and kept in use through maintenance and updates is a privilege. To honor that deep affection, we will continue to refine every single detail. Bringing the passion of that day into the everyday life of the future.
